The Kimball Vex IQ Robotics teams braved the winter weather on Feb. 8 to compete at the Royalton VEX IQ Blended Robotics competition, which proved to be a fun and energetic tournament.
Kimball’s Team E, the Banana Monkeys, used their mechanical skills and engineering minds to bring home the Design Award, while Team B from Kimball, the Trash Pandas, and Kimball’s Team C, the G.H.O.S.T.S., were able to earn their way to first place and take home the Teamwork Champion Award.
The Cubs are now preparing for the upcoming 2025 State IQ Robotics Tournament, which is slated for March 1 at the River's Edge Convention Center in St. Cloud.
“This year's 2024-2025 IQ Rapid Relay season has been a fun and energetic season for all, said IQ head coach Mike Kunkel. “The Kimball Vex IQ students were able to work together to strategize, design, build, program, and drive their robots all season, which brought fun and excitement to the Kimball IQ Robotics program.”
Thank you to our IQ coaches this season, who include: Jackie Helgeson, Krystal Brau, Kathy Kunkel, Nick Ouke, Myles Durga and Michael Kunkel.
