Congratulations to Hank Meyer, who finished the world's largest high school wrestling tournament with a 3-4 overall record in Fargo, ND, this week.
Meyer lost his first match today by a score of 5-8 to the #8 seed from Illinois in the Greco-Roman tourney. Then, he lost his final match to a grappler from Oklahoma, 11-14. MN/USA wrestling provided 13 coaches. Meyer always had multiple coaches in his corner, many of whom are college coaches from MN, including former All-Americans and Olympians. Way to go Hank! #KimballProud
Kimball's 10U Gold Baseball squad ended a successful travel ball season in style by winning their season-ending tournament, which was held in Annandale on July 13-14. The young Cubs battled some rain and extreme heat, putting together a memorable comeback in the title game to bring home a Championship to Kimball. Finding themselves down 12-6 in the bottom of the fourth inning, the boys didnt waver, rallying to score 6 in the frame to tie the game. After shutting down their opponent in the top of the 5th inning, the Cubs put together enough offense in the bottom part to win 13-12 in thrilling fashion!

Kimball’s Hank Meyer finished the Freestyle competition with a record of 3-2 overall at the world's largest high school wrestling tournament in Fargo this week. There were over 1,800 grapplers from around the world at the event. Meyer resumes competition today in the 215# weight class at the Greco-Roman tournament. Good luck Hank! #KimballProud
Kimball Volleyball is set to host its summer league playdates on July 16. Visitors should park in the south lot and enter door #10. Matches will be played in both the Wirth and North Gyms. Doors open at 4:30 pm with league matches from 5-8 pm. Good luck Cubs! #KimballVolleyball
Kimball’s senior wrestler Hank Meyer was invited to be on an elite Minnesota Team this summer, the Minnesota Storm.
This week in Fargo, Meyer qualified to wrestle at 215 pounds in Greco and Freestyle by earning the Greco State Championship title and tabbing a 4th place finish in the Northern Plains Regional Competition back in May.
There are 70 top wrestlers representing MN and competing individually in all weight classes. It is the largest high school wrestling meet in the world. The best wrestlers from all 50 states compete in Fargo.
Meyer is the 4th Kimball wrestler to earn this prestigious opportunity.
There are 115 grapplers competing this week in Fargo.
Hank went 1-1 on July 15. He lost by tech foul to Dreshaun Ross from Iowa, the #1 seed. Mayer stayed with him for over a minute, which was impressive. Then Meyer defeated a wrestler from Hawaii by tech foul 12-0.

Due to inclement weather, Kimball Area Community Ed's practices for T-ball and Rookie Softball and Rookie Baseball will be moved inside the high school on July 9. T-ball will practice in the Wirth Gym from 5:30-6:15 pm, Rookie Baseball will practice from 6:30-7:30 pm in the Wirth Gym and Rookie Softball will practice in the North Gym from 6:30-7:30 pm.
